Soner Büyümez, whose quick response turned into a heroic rescue, shared a dramatic tale with The Dodo when he stumbled upon a troubling scene at the site of a landslide. As he rushed to the location, he discovered a dog, panic-stricken and trapped, with only her head visible above the ground.
The worrying situation became even more urgent when Büyümez realized the dog was not just concerned for herself. “Seeing her like that was very upsetting,” Büyümez recounted.
Without hesitation, he grabbed a shovel and started digging to free the distressed animal. As he worked to unearth the trapped dog, he noticed another, more subtle sound among the debris.
“I heard puppies crying,” Büyümez noted. “They were trapped beneath the soil.”
Once the mother dog was free, Büyümez didn’t stop. Determined to save the entire litter, he continued digging until he had unearthed all seven puppies. The puppies had been buried when their underground den collapsed, but thanks to Büyümez’s swift action, they and their mom were safe.
In the end, Büyümez was hailed as a hero, bringing relief and safety to the worried dog and her precious pups.
