A dramatic encounter unfolded at Kenya’s Tsavo National Park when five young male elephants squared off in a heated fight for dominance.

Captured on film by visitor Shazaad Kasmani, the massive animals can be seen locking tusks, pushing each other, and competing to assert their strength.

The fight began with two elephants clashing, but the intensity quickly escalated as three more joined the confrontation.

According to Kasmani, this behavior is common among elephants when asserting dominance. However, witnessing a group of five involved in such a battle is unusual.

Kasmani, 38, described the experience as both thrilling and rare. “Before a fight, it’s normal to see elephants throwing dust into the air as they prepare to face off,” he explained.

“It’s also more typical to see just two elephants settling their differences, not a whole group. So when I saw this, I knew it was something unique.”

The fight lasted around 15 minutes, with no apparent animal injuries. Kasmani speculated that the young males were likely testing their strength against one another, possibly in preparation for future dominance within the herd.

While these confrontations can sometimes be triggered by competition over a female, it remains unclear if that was the case here.

Kasmani’s footage offers a rare glimpse into the social dynamics of elephants, showcasing their raw power and complex behavior.
