Angelina Jolie, renowned actress and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ambassador, visited Pakistan to support victims of the devastating floods that recently submerged a third of the country’s land.

Sharing her experience on social media, Jolie expressed shock at the extensive damage caused by the severe flooding. “I’ve never seen anything like this, and I have been to Pakistan many times,” Jolie noted. She added, “I am absolutely with you in pushing the international community to do more.”

Jolie emphasized that while aid appeals and support efforts are joint, the severity of this crisis requires urgent global attention. She encouraged governments to address underlying issues such as fair trade, rising emissions, and conflicts contributing to widespread suffering.

In addition to her efforts in Pakistan, Jolie has shown support for Iranian women and protesters following the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of morality police. She shared photos of the protests on social media and admired the “brave, defiant, fearless women of Iran.”

In her post, Jolie wrote, “Women don’t need their morals policed, their minds re-educated, or their bodies controlled. They need freedom to live and breathe without violence or threats.”
