In Thailand’s Phetchabun Province, a stray dog burdened by a large tumor caught the attention of rescuers. This poor animal was in visible pain and had been neglected for so long that its condition had worsened without help.
Determined to get the dog the care it needed, rescuers transported it on a nearly six-hour journey, covering a distance of about 455.5 kilometers, to reach Pattaya where treatment was available.
Upon examination, veterinarians discovered additional, smaller tumors on the dog’s leg, all of which presented a significant medical challenge.

The dog had been living in dire conditions on the streets, with a troubling growth on its abdomen impacting its quality of life drastically. Its visit to the veterinarian was marked by visible distress, though it managed to eat a hearty meal.
Doctors faced a difficult decision but concluded that amputating the leg was necessary to remove the malignancies and improve the dog’s future prospects.

Remarkably, just one month after this challenging surgery, the dog showed significant signs of recovery. Although adjusting to life on three legs, it slowly began walking again.
Plans are now underway to return this resilient dog to Phetchabun Province. Here, a new chapter awaits, as it is set to be adopted into a caring home that will ensure it receives the love and attention it deserves for the rest of its life.
