Upon receiving a photo from my aunt showing an animal in distress, I could immediately tell that this dog desperately needed help.
During extremely hot weather, the dog would seek shelter in shaded areas, using tree trunks and trousers to find relief from the heat and lessen his discomfort.
This dog was discovered at Kaohsiung port with a stomach so bloated it resembled a wheel. Struggling to breathe, he was forced to roam the streets in search of food.
After a procedure to remove 9000ml of ascitic fluid, the dog’s physical and emotional burdens have significantly eased, and he is now able to move around freely.
For the first time in his life, this previously neglected street dog has someone to care for him. With love and attention, he is now experiencing the joy and contentment that he has been missing.
